Mappedin raises $24.5M to map the indoors at scale
Picture driving somewhere new.
Your phone shows traffic. Weather alerts for storms. Your car finds parking.
Everything runs on shared infrastructure: GPS satellites, real-time sensors, location data, all on one digital map layer.
Step inside a building, and that map disappears.
Indoor maps can improve visitor experiences. But when someone calls 911, they can save lives. Every minute without coordination can cut survival by 10%.
Mapping buildings isn’t like mapping roads
For decades, mapping the indoors at scale was impractical.
Buildings are privately owned and individually managed.
Layouts change constantly.
The technology to capture and maintain indoor maps at scale didn’t exist.
Hospitals, airports, stadiums, campuses, and office towers manage dozens of disconnected systems.
MappedIn believes indoor mapping should be the infrastructure layer that everything else runs on and that’s what they’re building.
Today, they’ve mapped more than 10 billion square feet across 86 countries, guiding over 450 million visitors.
Some of the world’s largest properties use their maps, from Simon Property Group to LAX to Super Bowl stadiums.
And yet, less than 1% of the world's indoor space has been mapped digitally.
Why we invested: Mapping the remaining 99%
Today, we’re announcing a $24.5M Series B into MappedIn led by Edison Partners with participation from Betatron Venture Group to accelerate this work.
This funding takes MappedIn from individual buildings to entire cities globally.
They’re giving the people responsible for managing indoor environments, from building supervisors to safety officials, the modern tools and infrastructure they need to oversee and secure them.
And they’re opening their platform to safety organizations and partners building solutions on top.
At this scale, indoor maps will become indispensable.
Looking Ahead: Shared infrastructure for buildings
Outside, everything is mapped. Inside, that layer is missing. MappedIn’s goal is simple: make buildings safer to navigate and easier to manage.
Nearly 90% of our lives take place indoors. They’re building the infrastructure to match.
Agentic engineering means they don't choose between quality and speed. They deliver best-in-class solutions tailored to each building in weeks instead of quarters.
The next decade belongs to those who can see, understand, and respond to what’s happening inside their walls in real time.
Strategic Fit with Betatron
Mappedin represents the kind of company we seek to back: a B2B technology business solving a fundamental infrastructure problem in a market that remains largely untapped. We are especially excited by the company's ability to serve global enterprises with a market leading product. With AI accelerating the pace of software development and a world increasingly reliant on digital platforms, we believe Mappedin is well-positioned to become the defining infrastructure layer for the built world.
