Matthias is the Managing Partner and CEO of Betatron Venture Group. Matthias has more than two decades of buyside and sell-side experience, fifteen years in Hong Kong and five in London. At Betatron Matthias and his team have invested in more than fifty portfolio companies and delivered three exits.

Prior to turning full-time Venture Capitalist, Matthias was an active Angel investor backing 6 companies via 9 investment rounds with a significant exit in his personal portfolio already. 

Prior to BVG, Matthias was Managing Director and Head of Debt Syndicate Asia-Pacific at HSBC, where he led over 250 deals and oversaw the underwriting of more than US$500 billion in assets. 

Matthias holds a Master in Mathematical Finance degree from the University of Toronto as well as an MBA.
